This move highlighted the strengthening relationship between Qatar and UNICEF and facilitated the swift expansion of UNICEF’s national programs in Qatar. The Qatar office is part of UNICEF’s subregional program for the Gulf Area (2019-2023), which also includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The subregional initiative concentrates on four key areas: early childhood development, child protection, improving data and evidence on children, and enhancing partnerships and resources for child welfare.
