As a UNRWA intern, you can contribute to departments such as education, health, social work, protection, external relations, legal affairs, finance, or human resources within a dynamic team environment. Through hands-on experience, interns participate in professional meetings, utilize analytical frameworks, and gain insights into the Agency’s mandate, structure, and operational processes.
Internship opportunities are available at UNRWA offices, including the Headquarters Amman, and Field Offices of Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank, in our areas of operations, and the Representation Offices in New York, Brussels, and Washington.

We invite applications from experienced professionals interested in international or area posts in any one of the Agency’s five fields of operations – Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Jordan and the West Bank. We offer fixed-term positions as well as consultancy opportunities for specific tasks and emergency relief efforts.

UNRWA seeks programme specialists in education, health, relief and recovery, infrastructure and protection as well as professionals with experience in administrative and operational support.
What are the requirements?
Applications for an internship must meet one of the following requirements:
a) Be enrolled in, or have recently completed within the last 12 months, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
B) be enrolled in, or have recently completed within the last 12 months, the final academic year of first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent)
You must also possess a working knowledge of English and preferably one of the UN’s working languages (, Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese).
What will I learn/gain from this experience?
If you are motivated, innovative, and enjoy sharing your world perspectives, you will learn a range of skills starting from creating reports to analyzing quantitative data. It is a fast-paced environment giving you the chance to learn a lot.
Do I need work experience?
No working experience is required to apply for internships with UNRWA. Your training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the UNRWA during your internship.
