Several UN organizations within of the UNBT, promote child and youth engagement and participation to ensure that EU policies and legislation are informed by their views and inputs. Together with UNEP, UNICEF and UNESCO support the implementation of climate and environmental education in school and academic institutions.

Context

Task description
– Mapping of all EC funded projects since 2018, development and implementation of an EC project database (including repository) and monitoring tool;
– Setting up a tracking mechanism for all EC-led verification missions and Residual Error Rate (RER) studies, including development and monitoring;
– Maintains up to date records of the verification missions, RER studies and other audits;
– Follows the developments of the EC project management systems (e.g. OPSYS) and drafts knowledge sharing materials;
– Contributes to the development and the management of EC-UNEP contracts in line with the EC contractual framework and FAFA-related matters;
– Monitors the discussions and developments on the EC contractual framework and FAFA-related matters;
– Conducts research and intelligence gathering on various matters; – Contributes to the set-up of a structured knowledge management tool on the UNEP-EC operational partnership;
– Any other duties as required.

Required education level
Master degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, Management, Business Administration or a related field.

Resourcefulness and willingness to accept wide responsibilities and ability to work independently under established procedures; ability to manage information objectively, accurately and confidentially; responsive and client-oriented;
Skills and experience
the national or international level, working with EU institutions, in the UN or other international development organization, national organization or academic institutions;
• High-level knowledge and experience with EU institutions;
• Good knowledge of environmental policy on global level as well as in the EU;
• Excellent oral and written skills – strong writer of stories and proposals that support the agenda of the week, excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills, and able to bring diverse group of individuals and partners together to agree a collective programme of work as well as able to write high quality reports and proposals as required;
• Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, culturally and socially sensitive, ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
• Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
