Your wellbeing matters
Weāre committed to supporting your positive wellbeing and mental health both prior to your enrolment and whilst you are studying with us. For that reason, we offer a free Student Assistance Programme (SAP) to help you deal with any personal or student related problems that might be affecting your studies or day-to-day life.
Provided by Health Assured and Endsleigh Insurance, the Student Assistance Programme is designed to help you manage and enhance your mental health and overall wellbeing through two main features including:

A unique counsellor-led service available 24 hours a day. 7 days a week, ready to respond toāÆany need forāÆemotional or practical support from international students.

The health hubāÆincludesāÆa range of ways to help youāÆkeep track ofāÆdifferent aspects of yourāÆhealth and fitness such as water intake and sleep. Thereās also a range of healthy, easy-to-make recipes to give inspiration as well as access to loads of articles, podcasts and videos.

Apply to join the International College
You can apply to the University of Sheffield International CollegeĀ onlineĀ or through a local agent. If you are applying via an agent, please ask them for an application form.

Admissions process
- Complete all sections of theĀ application formĀ āĀ you don’t have to do it all now, you can save it and come back to it later.
- Submit supporting documents (optional ā you can provide these later if you prefer).
- Read theĀ terms and conditions.
- Submit your application form.
- If you meet the entry requirements, you’ll receive a response from an expert team of specialist student enrolment advisors within 2 working days (Monday to Friday). They will talk you through your next steps andĀ support you throughout the process.
Entry requirements
To join us at the University of Sheffield International College, you need to meet the minimum academic and English language entrance requirements.
Study GroupĀ is permitted to assess studentsā suitability for entry onto programmes which are degree level and above under the registration for the UK Office for Students. You are therefore not required to have a UKVI SELT to obtain a Student Visa when you come to campus.
A CAS for a Student Visa will only be issued if you have met the minimum language requirement of CEFR B2 in all skills, and the academic entry requirements for your chosen programme.
If you do not meet the English language requirements for your pathway programme, you can join anĀ English language preparation courseĀ first.

To progress to your undergraduate or postgraduate degree, you will be required to successfully complete your pathway programme and achieve the required grades.
Academic programmes
International Foundation Year (undergraduate pathway)
Entry requirements for theĀ International Foundation YearĀ are listed below. If you need additional English language tuition to reach the requirements, you can study anĀ English language courseĀ first.

Global Scholarship: fund your pathway programme
We offer a number of partial tuition scholarships to help towards your studies at the University of Sheffield International College.
- These may differ depending on region and are offered on a first come, first serve basis.
- You must hold an offer to study at the University of Sheffield International College to be considered for this scholarship.
- This scholarship does not apply to students who are sponsored by a government/ organisation/company.

Scholarships for every year of study, covering the International Foundation Year and undergraduate degree
The University of Sheffield International College is offering scholarships of up to Ā£5,000 for students enrolling on our International Foundation Year who show excellent academic potential.
Students will also be eligible to receive a scholarship worth up to Ā£2,500 for each year of their undergraduate degree when they progress to the University of Sheffield.

- Scholarships will be awarded to self-funded students only and will be discounted from tuition fees.
- Scholarships should be requested at the point of application, are subject to availability and made by Study Group in their sole discretion.

The University of Sheffield: Undergraduate Scholarships
- University scholarship is worth Ā£2,000 per year for courses in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Faculty of Social Sciences, and Ā£2,500 per year for courses in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health and Faculty of Science.
- University scholarships apply for each year of a degree, subject to achieving a minimum GPA in each year of study.

Progression scholarships (International Merit Scholarships)
There are a number of scholarships available to International Foundation Year and Pre-Masters students progressing to the University of Sheffield. These include:
- International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship ā offering 75 scholarshipsĀ worth Ā£10,000 towards the tuition fees for undergraduate degree programmes starting in autumn 2025.
- International Postgraduate TaughtĀ MeritĀ Scholarship ā offering 75 scholarshipsĀ worth Ā£10,000 towards the original tuition fee for the postgraduate programmes starting in September 2025.
