UNHCR Istanbul Seeks Dynamic Field Office Intern for Immediate Hire
UNHCR Istanbul Field Office is seeking a dynamic team player, with a strong interest in in UNHCR’s mission to protect and find solutions for forcibly displaced and stateless persons.
The incumbent will be supervised by the Assistant Legal Officer and work closely with both Legal Protection and Field teams.
Duties and responsibilities
• The incumbent will assist the relevant team members with the referrals, follow-up, and monitoring of individual cases concerning access to registration, detention, and deportation.
• Working under the guidance of the supervisor and the Senior Protection Associate, the intern is expected to assist the team member in updating and tracking the detention and registration databases of the Field Office.
• Media monitoring concerning protection environment in Istanbul FO’s area of responsibility.
• Assisting the team members with preparation of meeting minutes.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum qualifications required
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO.
Desirable qualifications and skills
• Advanced level of computer proficiency and previous experience with MS Office products is required.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills in English and Turkish are essential.
• The incumbent must pay attention to details, demonstrate analytical thinking and communication skills.
• Background in law is desirable.
