FAO Internship Programme: A Chance for Young Talent

The Internship Programme is a chance for talented young women and men to bring fresh ideas and recent research to FAO. It offers selected students, whether they are currently studying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or are recent graduates, the opportunity to gain practical work experience in areas related to FAO’s mission.

This hands-on experience helps them apply what they’ve learned in school and enhances their understanding of food security and agricultural development.

Requirements for Application

  • Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of countries that are FAO Members.
  • Education: Candidates should be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited institution or be recent graduates at the time of application.
  • Languages: Applicants need to have a working knowledge of at least one of the FAO’s official languages (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian). Proficiency in a second FAO language is a plus.

  • Age: Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years old when the internship begins, meaning it should start before they turn 31.
  • Skills: Applicants should be adaptable to a diverse international environment, possess good communication skills, and be familiar with basic computer applications.
