Public Information and Conference Management Internship at UNEP 2025.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is excited to announce the Public Information and Conference Management Internship for 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of environmental communication and event management. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting UNEP’s mission to promote sustainable development through sound environmental practices. You will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, contributing to the planning and execution of conferences, workshops, and public outreach initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

: Assist in the organization and coordination of conferences, workshops, and public events, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.

2. Communication Materials: Help prepare and disseminate information materials, including press releases, brochures, and newsletters, to promote UNEP’s initiatives and events.

3. Social Media Management: Contribute to UNEP’s social media presence by creating engaging content, monitoring interactions, and analyzing outreach metrics.

4. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on environmental topics, conference themes, and participants to support event programming and communications strategies.

5. Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in liaising with various stakeholders, including government representatives, NGOs, and the media, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of events and communications activities, and assist in preparing reports for internal and external audiences.

7. Technical Support: Provide support for virtual events, including managing online platforms and ensuring smooth technical operations during conferences.

8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with UNEP staff and other interns to ensure cohesive teamwork and contribute to a positive working environment.

9. Capacity Building**: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills in public information, event management, and environmental issues.

10. Ad hoc Tasks: Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the overall objectives of the UNEP Public Information and Conference Management team.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
