Job Opening: UNDP Environmental Finance Regional Programme Associate Vacancies 2025.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is excited to announce an opening for the position of Environmental Finance Regional Programme Associate. As a Regional Programme Associate, you will work closely with a diverse team to implement and manage environmental finance initiatives. Your responsibilities will include coordinating project activities, engaging with stakeholders, and providing analytical support to enhance the effectiveness of our programs. You will play a key role in facilitating partnerships and mobilizing resources to drive impactful environmental projects that contribute to climate resilience and sustainable resource management.

Administration & Operations

Events management (including retreats, trainings, and meetings): Ability to manage events, including venue identification, accommodation, logistics, catering, transportation, and cash disbursements, etc.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Secondary education is required. 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Sciences, Environmental or Social Sciences, or other closely related fields will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years (with Secondary Education), or 4 years (with Bachelor´s degree), of experience in programme/project management, financial resources management, budget management, and/or administrative support functions;
  • Experience with tools and methodologies to follow-up on projects or project cycle management is required;

  • Mastery in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, as a minimum, database management as a plus) and demonstrated experience in web research is required;
  • Experience in project oversight and/or management highly desirable;
  • Experience at the national or international level with organizations that manage grants or vertical funds is an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of an ERP System (such as Quantum) and UNDP programming and budget structure is highly desirable;

  • Experience in procurement will be considered an advantage;  
  • Prior experience and knowledge of vertical funds is an advantage;
  • Writing and editing skills, as well as experience preparing graphic presentations is an advantage.

Language:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic is required. 
  • Knowledge of Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese would be an added advantage.

Professional Certificates:

  • Certification in project management would be an added advantage.

Please note that continuance of appointment beyond the initial 12 months is contingent upon the successful completion of a probationary period.
