UNICEF offers a unique opportunity for aspiring professionals through its 2025 paid internships, providing valuable support to the Executive Office in New York.
Interns will engage in meaningful projects, gain hands-on experience, and receive a monthly stipend, all while contributing to UNICEF’s mission of improving children’s lives worldwide.
The internships will be full-time for a period of two months to bridge the gap during June and July. The internships will be based in the ECW Secretariat in New York. Hybrid working arrangements may be considered upon approval of the hiring office.

The interns will work primarily with ECW’s Director and ECW’s Deputy Director on the following areas:
- Focused research and preparations for new donor engagements (especially foundations).
- Consult with the Partnership & Resource Mobilization Chief and present a well-researched and clearly spelt out action plan for approaching foundations and high-net individuals.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will…
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme (or have graduated within the past two years).
- Have an academic background in any of the following fields: International Relations, International Development, Human Rights/Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, Education, Social Sciences, Project Management or related field.
- Be fluent in English (speaking, writing and reading).
- Excellent organizational communication skills, particularly in handling official correspondence and engaging with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Monthly stipend:
Interns will receive a stipend based on their location. USD 1,700 per month in the following offices: New York, Geneva, and Copenhagen; or 70% of the monthly salary of the GS level 3 step 1 in all other the duty stations.
Insurance:
UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the intern’s service. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to starting his/her work.
