ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability.
The mission of UNIDO, as described in the Lima Declaration adopted at the fifteenth session of the UNIDO General Conference in 2013 as well as the Abu Dhabi Declaration adopted at the eighteenth session of UNIDO General Conference in 2019, is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States.

The provision of reliable and affordable energy is a necessary prerequisite for industrial development and greater economic and social prosperity.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager in HQ and close cooperation project team in the field and HQ, the National Project Coordinator together with the Project Assistant will build the Project Management Unit (PMU), which will be responsible for the overall coordination/implementation, monitoring/evaluation and reporting of the project.
MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education: Advanced university degree in Engineering/Science/Business/Administration or other relevant discipline, with a specialization in project management required.

Technical and functional expertise:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing projects in sustainable energy, with a focus on renewable energy, off-grid electrification, and climate change, is required. Experience in technical cooperation projects in developing countries is required.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
