UNESCO Associate National Project Officer (Education) 2025.

UNESCO is seeking an Associate National Project Officer (Education) for 2025. This pivotal role focuses on supporting the implementation of educational initiatives that promote inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.

The Associate National Project Officer will work closely with national and local stakeholders to develop and manage projects aimed at enhancing educational systems and improving learning outcomes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, or closely related field(s). 
  • A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Less than 2 years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience in education program coordination, or a related role within a civil society organization or education institution. 
  • Experience working on education, training, or skills development projects.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and issues.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the Organization.
  • Capable of performing well under pressure, handling heavy workloads, and meeting tight deadlines with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrated project implementation skills and excellent coordination skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and sensitivity to the local context.
  • Good knowledge of results-based and budget management tools.
  • Strong IT skills including good knowledge of standard office software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

LANGUAGES

  • Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of Arabic and English.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within the UN and International NGOs.

LANGUAGES

  • Knowledge of the other UNESCO official languages (French, Chinese, Russian and Spanish).
