Contract Information
The first year of contract will be probationary with the possibility of further extension subject to satisfactory performance. This post is limited to local status* only. *Local status requires applicants to have unhindered permission to live and work in the UK.
Salary
Approximately £45,347 net per annum, (subject to deductions), free of income tax in the UK. Excellent benefits including medical insurance and UN pension scheme.
Purpose of the Post
Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Head of Projects in TCID and in close liaison with the Head of Outreach and Communication, the incumbent will support the communication and visibility work of the IMO Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Projects Portfolio. The incumbent will provide technical expertise and communications support towards the implementation of activities for the IMO GHG Projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to IMO’s technical cooperation work and, through the IMO GHG Projects Portfolio, support developing countries in their efforts to reduce air pollution and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from ships.
Required Competencies
a) Excellent communication and drafting skills in English (written and spoken).

d) Meticulous attention to detail.
e) Initiative and ability to work under minimum supervision.
Professional Experience
Minimum of seven years of experience in content creation, social media management, and graphic / digital design (with a recent portfolio to show). Prior experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development is essential. Experience in video production and editing. Proficiency in Adobe CC software.
Education
Secondary education to university entrance standard
Language Skills
Advanced level of proficiency in English, both written and oral, is essential.

Other Skills
Good understanding of data visualisation and infographic design principles. High proficiency in MS Office applications. Experience drafting content on maritime related subjects, including GHG emission from ships would be an asset.
