The International Labour Organization’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) is based in Bangkok, Thailand and supports work in 36 member countries, from Afghanistan to the Pacific Islands.
Learning areas
As an intern in the Regional Communications Unit of the International Labour Organization’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific you will be actively involved in a wide range of communications actions and activities aimed at creating awareness and understanding of ILO’s work in the region.
Education
Ideally the intern will have an educational background in a communications-related field such as mass communications, journalism, public relations etc.
Study in other academic fields such as international relations, development studies, labour law, gender studies would be beneficial however candidates from any academic field would be considered should they demonstrate past experience or a strong desire to gain experience in the communications field.
Experience
Relevant experience and knowledge carrying out communications actions would be an advantage for example developing written or audio-visual content, social media content production and marketing, event organisation.

Languages
Excellent command (native/near native) of spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages from the Asia-Pacific region is an advantage.
Competencies
Adaptable to an international, multicultural and multilingual environment, good communication skills, flexibility and able to work in a team.
