The Dutch government is attempting to make Dutch higher education as accessible as possible to students and mid-career professionals from other countries.

The NL Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, as well as Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s degree in the Netherlands. To limit the number of applications and thus make an honest and clear selection, application is only open to non-EU applicants.

Scholarship amount
A scholarship of € 5,000 to contribute to your living costs in the Netherlands. The scholarship will be paid to you by Breda University of Applied Sciences after arrival in the Netherlands.
Application criteria
To qualify for the NL Scholarship of Breda University of Applied Sciences, candidates should:
- Not have lived in Europe for more than 12 months over the past 5 years;
- Never have studied in the Netherlands, except as an exchange student for 1 or 2 semesters;
- Have excellent grades during their undergraduate studies;
- Have excellent English language proficiency;
- Have a letter from Breda University of Applied Sciences with an admission offer for a bachelor’s programme;
How to apply
You can apply for the scholarship only after you have received an admission letter for one of our BUas bachelor’s programmes. You can send the following documents to scholarships@buas.nl:

- English test results (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge or inform us if you are exempted)
