CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• Advanced university degree in business administration or public administration, social science, political science, international development, international relations or a related field.
• Five years of relevant experience in project or programme management, administration or related area.
• Working knowledge (proficiency – level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency – level B) of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).

Technical/Functional Skills
• Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions.
• Extent and relevance of experience in the field of administration, human resources, finance and management.
• Extent and relevance of experience in programme/project formulation, analysis, planning and implementation.
• Extent and relevance of experience in liaising with international donor organizations and development partners.
• Extent of knowledge of planning and budgetary processes and associated tools.
• Understanding of FAO policies and programmes is considered a strong asset.
• Experience working in an emergency context is an asset.
Specific Functions
• Provides technical advice on the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned projects, particularly to support rehabilitation of agriculture land contaminated with UXO/ERW in Ukraine.
• Reviews of relevant documents and reports; identifies priorities, consults with relevant parties; identifies follow-up actions.
• Supports project-related activities and reviews the assessments of issues and trends for the implementation of projects and the preparation of impact evaluation or equivalent studies.
• Prepares and supervises the drafting of various written outputs, e.g. background papers, analyses, substantial sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications.
• Participates in activities such as structuring of training workshops, seminars; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
• Leads field missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials and other parties.
• Contributes to the development of policies and strategies, as well as national protocols and guidelines for projects with specific domains related to FAO’s work.
• Prepares detailed work plans, procurement plans and implementation plans for the assigned project(s).
• Facilitates the establishment of project monitoring tools and supports evidence-based programming.
• Oversees the project implementation and supports FAO to set in place project management-related activities; supports selection of technical project staff and identification of relevant stakeholders and implementing partners.
