The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), is inviting applications for the position of Transportation Clerk/Driver, NPSA-4, based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

UNDSS Ukraine supports the United Nations Country Team by providing security assessments, coordination, and advice under the leadership of the Chief Security Advisor (CSA). Within this framework, the Transportation Clerk/Driver serves as a vital operational link, ensuring that personnel, equipment, and missions are carried out safely and efficiently.
The position is locally administered by UNDP and financed by UNDSS. The initial contract duration is one year, with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability, performance, and ongoing organizational needs. As a National Personnel Service Agreement (NPSA-4) role, it is specifically open to qualified national candidates.

1. Driving and Transportation Services
The incumbent is responsible for the safe and timely operation of both armored and soft-skin UN vehicles, strictly adhering to UNDSS driving regulations and national road laws. Duties include transporting authorized UN personnel within Kyiv and to regional destinations, sometimes involving overnight field trips. The role also involves meeting officials and visitors at train stations and supporting secure field travel for UN Agencies, Funds, and Programmes (AFPs).
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
Maintaining vehicle readiness is a core responsibility. This includes daily checks, cleanliness, roadworthiness, and proper documentation such as mileage logs, fuel consumption records, and passenger signatures. The Transportation Clerk/Driver ensures that vehicles are insured, equipped with first aid kits, personal protective equipment, trauma bags, and satellite phones—particularly for missions near the contact line or grey zones. Coordination of timely repairs and maintenance, as well as maintaining accurate vehicle history records, is essential.
3. Logistical and Field Support
In support of UNDSS operations, the incumbent assists with the logistical preparation of field missions and visiting delegations, including high-level VIP missions. This may involve loading and unloading light cargo, preparing field trip documentation for security clearance, and supporting mission planning to ensure smooth and secure travel operations.
4. Office and Administrative Support
The role also includes administrative duties that strengthen office operations. The Transportation Clerk/Driver may assist the ID Card Unit, serving as a backup in processing UN ID and access cards. Additionally, the incumbent supports UNDSS training activities such as IFAK and SSAFE trainings, acting as a driver, role player, and assistant in preparing training materials.

- Education: Secondary education is required. A university degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of four years of professional driving, logistics, and administrative support experience with secondary education, or one year of experience with a bachelor’s degree.
- Licensing: A valid Ukrainian Category B driving license is mandatory. A C1 license must be obtained within six months of appointment.
- Skills: Proven knowledge of driving regulations, safe driving practices, and minor vehicle repair. A clean and safe driving record is essential.
- Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required, while knowledge of Russian is desirable.
