The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering an exciting opportunity for young professionals and recent graduates through the Internship to Support the Regional Programme Team in Amman, Jordan.
This full-time internship, scheduled for a duration of six months, provides hands-on experience in regional development, communications, and knowledge management within one of the world’s most influential development organizations.

About the Internship
The position, based at the Amman Regional Hub, supports the Regional Programme for Arab States (2026–2029)—a strategic framework aligned with the UNDP Strategic Plan focusing on sustainable, inclusive, and future-smart development.
The programme emphasizes governance, poverty reduction, anti-corruption, digital and green transitions, conflict prevention, climate security, youth empowerment, gender equality, and resilience building.

Key Responsibilities
Interns will work closely with Regional Programme staff on a wide range of tasks, gaining valuable practical experience. Responsibilities include:
- Compiling, organizing, archiving, and maintaining programme-related data such as news, photos, videos, and project files.
- Uploading and updating content across online platforms and social media.
- Conducting research and fact-checking to support portal updates and content creation in both Arabic and English.
- Contributing to the preparation and distribution of newsletters.
- Supporting editorial and content calendars for digital platforms.
- Assisting with visual design, formatting, and the creation of communication materials.
- Performing additional tasks related to communications, content management, and reporting.
This broad range of duties ensures that the intern develops strong professional skills while supporting essential regional work.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following education requirements at the time of application:
- Enrollment in a postgraduate degree (Master’s or higher) in media studies, journalism, communications, information systems, or a related field;
- Enrollment in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields;
- Recent graduates (within one year);
- Enrollment in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme in a related field.
Previous experience in communications, social media management, digital content, or development projects is considered an asset.
Stipend and Intern Benefits
Where interns are not financially supported by an external institution, UNDP provides a monthly stipend to help cover daily expenses such as meals, transportation, or remote-work costs (depending on whether the internship is in-person or remote).
Interns also accrue 1.5 days of leave per mohnth, which can be used during the internship. Any unused leave is forfeited at the end of the contract.
