Primary Responsibilities
This internship covers four major areas of responsibility:
1. Administrative Support
The intern will provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the Evaluation Office’s IT and Security Focal Points. Key tasks include:
- Maintaining records of issued IT and office equipment
- Managing Security Gate Passes
- Monitoring EOU’s use of SharePoint and OneDrive storage
- Supporting ICT capacity-building efforts
- Updating staff contact lists and documentation
- Assisting with space management and general office services
- Supporting routine office logistics and procurement needs

2. Evaluation Support
The Evaluation Office produces numerous reports and assessments throughout the year. Intern responsibilities include:
- Ensuring evaluation reports follow proper formatting and presentation guidelines
- Naming, organizing, and archiving reports in designated SharePoint libraries
- Sharing finalized assessments with managers and relevant stakeholders
- Assisting evaluators with scheduling interviews and securing meeting rooms
- Supporting senior staff with appointment coordination
- Performing ad-hoc evaluation duties when required
This offers direct insight into how UN evaluations are conducted and quality-assured.
3. Data Management and Reporting
This internship has a strong data and reporting component. The intern will:
- Help develop and maintain evaluation databases
- Prepare datasets for major reporting cycles
- Automate manual tasks using tools such as forms, dashboards, and spreadsheets
- Conduct data cleanup to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Translate raw data into written summaries and presentations
- Assist with producing digital documents and improving workflow efficiency
