Purpose and Context of the Assignment
The primary goal of this assignment is to strengthen UNICEF Guinea-Bissau’s communication and visibility efforts. The materials produced by online volunteers will be used to highlight UNICEF’s work in one of the world’s toughest environments, helping donors, partners, and the general public better understand the situation of children and UNICEF’s response.
The assignment also contributes to broader global objectives, particularly promoting health, well-being, and sustainable partnerships, while supporting UNICEF’s engagement in international platforms such as COP29 (Conference of the Parties).
Tasks and Responsibilities
Selected online volunteers will be responsible for producing up to 20 design outputs, including layouts, visuals, videos, and animations. Key tasks include:
- Creating draft designs for reports, communication, and visibility materials tailored to different audiences (general public, donors, partners, and stakeholders)
- Designing videos and animations, including content prepared for COP29
- Ensuring all designs comply with UNICEF corporate branding and design guidelines
- Collaborating closely with the UNICEF Guinea-Bissau Communication Officer and Communication Associate
- Revising and refining designs based on feedback from the UNICEF communications team
- Delivering final products that meet agreed technical and visual requirements
All guidelines, templates, and background documents will be shared with volunteers before the start of the assignment.
Required Skills and Experience

Required Experience
Applicants should have:
- Professional experience in graphic design and video editing/production
- Prior experience designing document layouts, communication materials, or visibility products
- In-depth knowledge of graphic design and multimedia applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
A degree in graphic design or a related field is considered an asset but not mandatory.
