Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to students from all over the world, whether you wish to apply with full Erasmus Mundus scholarship funding or as a self-funded student.

Importantly, the CLMCE Consortium welcomes applications from candidates who have not previously completed a Master’s degree, especially when scholarship funding is competitive.

Application Routes and Deadlines

You can apply through two distinct pathways, each with its own deadline:

1. Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Applicants

  • Application Deadline: 23 January 2026, 13:00 (UK Time)
  • This route provides full funding for selected candidates, including tuition, monthly stipend, travel, and insurance support.

2. Self-Funded Applicants

  • Application Deadline: 21 August 2026, 23:59 (UK Time)

Applications for both routes open on 1 October 2025.

⚠️ Important: Applications submitted after the scholarship deadline will not be considered for Erasmus Mundus funding, even if you meet all academic requirements.

Where and How to Apply

All applications must be submitted online through the University of Glasgow. Applications sent by email or post will not be accepted.

Once you begin your application:

  • You have 42 days to complete and submit it
  • You may save and return as many times as needed
  • You can upload documents gradually, including transcripts and language test results

Applicants with questions are encouraged to contact the Admissions Team early due to high enquiry volumes close to deadlines.

A complete application is mandatory. Incomplete applications at the deadline will not be accepted.

⚠️ These forms must be uploaded as PDF files after completion.

Academic Documents

  • Official degree certificate(s) (if already completed)
  • Official academic transcript(s)
  • Certified English translations of all academic documents (if not originally in English)

References

You must submit two references:

  • One academic reference
  • One academic or professional reference

Each reference must:

  • Be dated within 24 months
  • Be on official letterhead or include an official stamp
  • Be digitally or hand-signed (typed names are not accepted)
  • Come from a professional email address (not Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)

If referees wish to keep references confidential, they may email them directly to:

⚠️ Scholarship applicants must upload proof of English proficiency by the scholarship deadline. The only exception is for applicants still completing their undergraduate degree.

English Language Requirements

Applicants from non-English-speaking countries must meet the University of Glasgow’s English language standards, as defined by UK government regulations.

Accepted tests, scores, and conditions are published on the official programme page. Applicants should carefully review these requirements well before submitting their application to avoid disqualification.

Study Structure and Track Choices

A defining feature of the CLMCE programme is mobility across partner universities.

  • Your Semester 3 study choice determines which university awards your degree
  • Applicants must rank their Semester 3 options from 1 (most preferred) to 3 (least preferred)

While the Consortium makes every effort to match students with their first choice:

  • Placement is not guaranteed
  • You may be assigned your second or third option depending on availability
  • Changes requested later may result in waitlisting

Entry Requirements

Academic entry requirements vary by educational background and country. Applicants are advised to consult the official University of Glasgow entry requirements page for the CLMCE programme.

All applicants must submit either a scholarship or self-funded application form, depending on their chosen route.

Scholarship Selection and Notification

  • Applications are reviewed only after the scholarship deadline
  • Successful candidates will be notified in April 2026
  • Any offer conditions related to final degree documents must be met by 31 August, but this date does not apply to scholarship consideration
