UNICEF Is Hiring An Operations Assistant -2026 Apply Now

UNICEF, one of the world’s most respected humanitarian organizations, is inviting qualified professionals to apply for the position of Operations Assistant (G5), Fixed Term, based in Korhogo, Côte d’Ivoire. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute directly to improving the lives of children in one of the most vulnerable regions of the country while building a rewarding career within the United Nations system.

With a presence in over 190 countries and territories, UNICEF works tirelessly to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them reach their full potential—from early childhood through adolescence. At UNICEF, supporting children is more than a job; it is a calling grounded in equity, inclusion, and sustainable development.

UNICEF’s Mission: Equity for Every Child

At the heart of UNICEF’s work lies a strong commitment to equity—ensuring that all children, especially the most disadvantaged and excluded, have equal opportunities to survive, develop, and thrive. Inequities in access to healthcare, education, nutrition, protection, water, sanitation, and hygiene continue to deny millions of children their basic rights.

UNICEF’s equity-focused approach recognizes that investing in the most vulnerable children not only transforms individual lives but also fosters long-term social stability and economic growth. By addressing disparities, UNICEF accelerates progress toward achieving the universal mandate of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and supports the equitable development of nations.

Context of the Role: Northern Côte d’Ivoire

Côte d’Ivoire is situated in a fragile sub-region where ethnic, cultural, and social ties cross national borders—and so do conflicts. Over the past two decades, successive crises have resulted in population displacement and widespread economic underdevelopment. More recently, recurrent attacks by violent extremist groups and armed gangs in neighboring countries have further destabilized the northern regions of Côte d’Ivoire.

Children in these areas face multiple deprivations, including limited access to quality social services such as healthcare, education, nutrition, child protection, and safe water and sanitation. In response, UNICEF Côte d’Ivoire, under its Country Programme Document (CPD) 2021–2025, has shifted its strategy to focus on the most vulnerable children by strengthening sub-national offices and enhancing multi-sectoral collaboration.
